PUBLISHED: Ceremony Magazine 2009

It’s an exciting day for San Diego Bride and Grooms, as well as the many Wedding Professionals that are part of the Ceremony Community. I am blessed enough to be one of the few photographers featured in Ceremony Magazine. This publication is very exclusive featuring only the best wedding professionals! I am excited to say that I am featured throughout the magazine including individual photos, a spread I did of local letterpress companies for the magazine, as well as Christy and Josh’s wedding being featured. If you are getting married in ’09, or ’10 for that matter, go pick yourself up a copy today!!!

Here is a shot of my ad:)This was a tough one to design this year. It is always so hard for me to pick just one photo to show the world! I think this was a perfect pic, as it shows the fun, candid side of my photography!

If you are shopping for invitations you HAVE to check out this article. There are so many amazing letterpress companies in San Diego!!!

I was very excited to see several of the photos from Ren and Rob’s engagement session published:)This is one of my all time favorite sessions:)

..and finally Christy and Josh’s wedding. I was so excited when I was flipping through the pages of Ceremony and I saw this wedding. I submitted it, but had NO idea it was getting published. Yay!

So, what are you waiting for??? Go pick up a copy:)!!!

Joyful Weddings and Events - January 9, 2009 - 5:51 am

Congrats! So exciting. I just got my OC copies and it was so fun to see one of my weddings in print! I will have to go pick up a SD issue.

Baby Derek. Three Months. Part II

A few more to hold you over….

I know this doesn’t have any people in it…but I LOVE it! This bird is special…I’ll call him Jonathon;)I tend to do most of my beach sessions in the evening, and it was so refreshing to be there in the morning instead. You are able to capture the LIFE of the sea in a completely different light.

Something Good for a change!

I fell in love with photojournalism in college when I first discovered how much more interested a photo can be be when looked at from a different perspective. There is nothing like capturing the moments around you as they unfold. The beauty of photojournalism really shows through when at the same time you can capture it in a way other people may not have thought to. This is why my PJ professor always said “make a photograph” instead of “take.” Because anyone can take a picture, but it’s when you take a moment or a scene and put your own personal spin on it that you are creating something. If our world was different, and the news revolved around the positivity in what is happening, I would have gone into photojournalism, absolutely. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. We live in a world where people thrive on drama. When we see someone is down, for some reason I can’t explain, we all want to keep looking. You know….when you are driving down the road and you see a wrecked car, and you have to try really hard to not look. However, we see someone walking down the street smiling and waving at perfect strangers, and we think they are crazy!!!!!! Am I right? Well I arrived at my twitter this morning and discovered the greatest website. It was shared to me by BridalInquirer.com, and it is all about the good news that is happening around the world! Check it out here. There is a very good chance that if there was a local paper that did this I would be fighting for a job there as a photojournalist. Hey, maybe I’ll start my own some day?!?!….You never know;)

Here is another photograph from our drive up the coast. The sunset was AMAZING!!!

Happy Holidays!!!!

I hope everyone has been enjoying the holiday season! Jeremy and I drove up to Northern California to visit family for Christmas. We took advantage of this gorgeous state we live in and stopped as often as possible to take pictures, drink coffee, eat yummy food and just experience the beauty that is California!!!

Here is just one of the many, many photos I took along the way.

I love that drive along the coast. Did you pass thru Paso Robles too? The hills must be rolling green right now. Ah, I miss California!!!

We really are so blessed to live in California! I enjoyed being up north for the holidays, too!
