Baby Ava :: 12 weeks

I had the pleasure of shooting baby Ava again this week. She is getting so big! She is one of the happiest babies I have ever met. The best part of the evening though, was after the photo shoot when I got to snuggle her while her mom made dinner. Enjoy a few of my fav’s!

Becky + Austin :: Wedding Teasers :: Part I

Becky and Austin got married on August 2nd at the Optimist Club in Vista, Ca. Working with Becky and Austin has been an absolute joy from the start! Becky is calm, organized and full of love. I fell in love with Austin when I first met him at the engagement shoot. I asked if they were nervous and he said, “no, we have really been looking forward to this!” Right then I knew their wedding would be awesome! Any time the groom is excited about the engagement shoot, we have a fun wedding on our hands:)With the combination of Becky’s attention to detail and Austins love and support, this wedding turned out simply beautiful. Not only was it stunning down to every detail, but their was so much love and emotion filling the air, that I had chills and tears in my eyes about 5 different times throughout the day!!!

Here are a few teasers, check back this week for more:)

Becky + Austin: I am looking forward to many more photo shoots in the future (babies) !! It has been so great getting to know you and be a witness of your love and respect for each other. Congratulations!

Nely: Thanks for all your help!

i love that last one, susie! I think it captures them perfectly. So much love, it’s palpable.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who teared up 5 times! :) I know it’s an honor to be at someone’s wedding, but this one truly made me feel very blessed to be there.

and thanks again for having me shoot with you. you were great to work with!

The coolest Wedding Video EVER !!!

I have been teasing you all with photos of Christy and Josh, but have yet to share anything about them. Well I will some it up by saying the are AWESOME! I met Christy about a year ago, and because they live in Arizona we didn’t have too much time to get to know each other. Thanks to my blog, Christy and I discovered that we have many similarities, such as a love for Juno:)The beginning of their ceremony started with a track from the Juno Sdtk, which only made me love them more:)

It wasn’t until the reception that I truly understood the amount of awesomeness this couple has oooozing from them! Josh is a producer for Fox sports and he put this video together. I wasn’t able to watch it at the reception because I was too busy taking pictures of people laughing their asses off!!!! So, when I got home that night, Jer and I sat down with some ice cream and watched their video. The first thing I thought was, I have to put this on my blog, because more people need to do this!

Watch and Enjoy…

How sweet was that?! Well it keeps getting better! As I mentioned, Josh is a producer and would love to start producing these for other rad couples getting married who want to spice up their traditional “slide show” with something that screams We are cool and won’t settle for some cheesy slide show!

:: Compassion ::

Do you have it? Do you see when you are not being compassionate? How do you feel when others are lacking compassion for you? Are you compassionate toward yourself? I am realizing the more compassion I have for myself, the more compassion I have for others. It all starts with the individual. If we love ourselves, we can more easily love others. If we forgive ourselves, we can more easily forgive others. If we stop judging people for actions they take, we can more easily stop judging ourselves.

I have learned through many experiences to never judge. Does that mean I don’t judge….others or myself??? NO, but I am working on it. We, as humans, have so much depth. There is no way to ever truly know what life is like for someone else. If we are unable to walk in their shoes, how could we ever have the right to judge them?! If we don’t judge, and we let people be themselves and live knowing they are ok to be who they are, then our world will be much less scary. It will in fact be full of love, compassion and trust! Not just for those close to us, but for the strangers that walk down the street. The strangers are in fact our brothers and sisters, too, right? So, why is it that we treat them as if they don’t matter? This is something to think about when experiencing road rage:)Imagine it was your best friend or sister in the car ahead….would you have more compassion for their lack of signaling??:)

“Be Kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” Dan Millman – Laws of Spirit

Next time a judgement towards someone enters your head, stop and think….Would I want to be judged for one simple action…?

——————————————————————-

I am reading a fabulous and truly inspiring book called The Laws of Spirit by Dan Millman ( author of The Way of the Peaceful Warrior.) Ever notice that sometimes you pick up a book and it is exactly what you need at that moment?! If you are looking for a little inspiration and a quick read, check out this book!

There is also the fabulous Peaceful Warrior movie, if you prefer to sit back with some popcorn and let the inspiration soak in that way:)

Love this post. Thanks for the reminder that we all need to ease up & be more open-minded. It’s so easy to forget sometimes.

Gonna pick up that book too since I just finished my last one a couple of weeks ago & have nothing to read at the moment. Thanks Susie!
