Q: "“We love your work! How do we reserve you for our wedding?”"

A:

The first step in reserving my services is to schedule an appointment for a custom quote phone meeting ( you can do this from the contact page). From there, I can give you a custom quote based on your specific needs. Once I receive the word from you, we will begin the contract process. A signed contract and one-third of the final balance is required to book your event, but don’t worry – the entire process is done online, so you can sign your contract and pay your deposit right from your living room.

Q: ""How much do you charge for weddings?""

A:

Our full day wedding collections start around $2700, but since every wedding is different, we like to provide our clients with a custom quote so we can make sure they are getting exactly the right fit. If you’d like a quote, contact us to schedule a phone meeting and let’s talk more about what you need.

Q: ""Do we need to meet you in person before we book?" "

A:

We would love to meet you in person, but it’s not necessary. Many of my clients are planning their weddings from out of town. We are always happy to meet with you over the phone or via Skype if we aren’t able to connect face to face.

Q: "“How would you describe your style?”"

A:

My images have a very classic look with a balanced mix of candid and posed moments. When I shoot, I prefer to use a primarily photojournalistic style with a smaller emphasis on posed pictures. I’ve found that’s the best way to tell the story of your wedding day so you can relax and enjoy it, and it also results in some of the most fun and meaningful images. I’d describe my editing style as consistent and timeless with vibrant and beautiful colors. After all, I want you to look back at your photos in 10 or 20 years and still love them as much as you do right after your wedding.

Q: "“How long have you been photographing weddings?”"

A:

Susie has been photographing weddings since she was in college in 2002. She graduated with a degree in photography and has been documenting weddings ever since! Katherine also graduated with a degree in photography and has been photographing weddings since 2012!

Q: "“How many weddings do you photograph each year?”"

A:

We want to be inspired and energized at every event we photograph, so we book a maximum of three weddings each month or roughly 36 weddings a year. With this limited number of weddings, we are able to approach each one with passion, enthusiasm, and a true love for what I do, which helps us deliver the most inspired images.

Q: "“Do you work off of a shot list?”"

A:

I’m always excited to see images that inspire you and hear your input on what you want for your big day. However, I never copy or try to duplicate another photographer’s work, and I prefer to create photos you’ll love because they are unique to your wedding. I also try to limit the list of posed photos I take in order to allow for more candid photos. I’ve found the candid shots are the ones my clients appreciate and value the most. We do love having a list of family photos however, as to make this portion of the day quick and easy!

Q: "“What equipment do you use?”"

A:

We use all Nikon digital equipment, and we photograph every wedding in RAW so we have complete control over the outcome of the images. We prefer Nikon because of its durability, reliability, and gorgeous color.

Q: "“Do you only photograph weddings?”"

A:

No! In addition to weddings, Susie specialize in boudoir photography , and Katherine specializes in headshots and magazine work!

Q: "“What locations do you typically cover?”"

A:

We live and work in the Wilmington, North Carolina, area and regularly do weddings and photography sessions in Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach, Southport, Oak Island, Figure Eight Island, Bald Head Island, and other surrounding areas. However, we love new horizons, so travel inquiries are always welcome.

Q: "“Are you willing to travel?”"

A:

Absolutely! Whether you are tying the knot in Europe, Hawaii, or small town in the middle of America, please invite us to come along. We have photographed weddings in Ohio, San Diego, San Jose, Las Vegas, and Napa Valley, and we love to travel. We also typically photograph destination weddings over the course of a three-day weekend, so we are able to document not just your wedding day, but the entire weekend of festivities.

Q: "“Do you charge sales tax?”"

A:

Yes.  All professional photographers in the state of North Carolina are required by law to charge sales tax.

Q: "“How long will it take to see my wedding images?”"

A:

We want to give you the very best images possible, so we put a lot of time and care into your proofs before I send them your way. I typically go through each and every image, narrow them down to the best of the best (typically around 100 per hour of coverage), then edit each one to meet my very high standards. Typically, this process takes 4-6 weeks, and when we are done, you will receive your proofs in a private online gallery where they are ready for immediate download.

Q: "“Will I receive digital images from my wedding?”"

A:

Yes. You will also have the ability to download your images directly from your online gallery as soon as they are posted!

Q: "“How long will it take for me to receive my wedding album?”"

A:

Once you place your order, it typically takes about 12 weeks: 4-6 weeks for design and another 4-6 weeks for printing. I recommend choosing your images within the first two weeks of receiving them so that we can immediately begin the creative process and design your album.
