How often do you stop, look around, and truly take in the beauty that is your life? This past weekend I had three amazing weddings, and every one of them took place on the beach. As I was walking barefoot in the sand with my camera in hand, I realized once again how blessed my life is. Each and every wedding had me hiding my tears behind my lens. This weekend was filled with so much love! Come Monday morning, as I was uploading photos and taking it all in, I had to stop for a moment and sit in gratitude. Gratitude for each and every one of these couples. Gratitude for being chosen as their photographer. Gratitude for having a career that allows me to work barefoot in the sand, but more than anything, gratitude for being blessed with the ability to give back with my craft.
Below is an email I received this morning from one of my brides from last weekend.
Hi Susie,
I am writing on behalf of Gregg and I to thank you for EVERYTHING you did for us at our wedding. I knew the moment we first met that you would be perfect, and having you as our wedding photographer was the best decision I made, besides marrying Gregg!! When I was stressed, you were right there to have me do something silly to relax me. When I felt overwhelmed, I looked to you and you smiled and gave me a look like “it’s ok” and it really made all the difference. Gregg and I both felt it was more like having a family member there who can take gorgeous pictures rather than just a photographer!
We are SO excited to see your pictures, as we know they will be absolutely amazing. We are so grateful for all you have done for us. We hope to keep in touch for a lifetime! Next come baby photos 🙂
