Rhiannon + Jonathan’s Airlie Gardens Wedding.

Back to Blog

I was lucky enough to meet Rhiannon at a Bridal Show last year.  She was one of the few that I was really hoping to hear from, and sure enough I did .  After meeting her and her mother at the show, I just knew it was going to be a gorgeous wedding.  She mentioned the ceremony would take place at Arlie Gardens, and that was all I needed to hear.  This place is nothing short of magical, and truly the perfect place to say your “I do’s.” When Rhiannon called to tell me she would like to move forward and work together, she also mentioned that she hired Fiore Fine Flowers to take care of the details. That just made me even more giddy to photograph this event, because Jean + her team always do phenominal work!!  I have decided to let Rhiannon fill you in on how they chose this gorgeous venue, and also how they decided on the color scheme, etc.  Who better than the bride to share with you the details of her day 🙂

Enjoy!!

Vendors:

Prep photos: Holiday Inn Wrightsville Beach
Ceremony/Recption: Airlie Gardens
Caterer: Bon Appetit
Flowers: Fiore Fine Flowers
Wedding Coordinator: Shindig Southern Event Planning
Music/Band: Envision

Wedding Colors: NAVY and GREEN
We both love all shades of blue and green hydrangeas. The bridesmaids cobalt dresses were one of the first things picked, and I think the color looked great on all 8 of them. We are alumni of University of Tennessee and Auburn University and both have orange in their school colors so we decided to add a pop of spirit in some of the reception arrangements and decor.Fiore Flowers did a great job of incorporating all of our colors, without upstaging the natural beauty of the gardens.
Venue:   I instantly made my decision with Airlie Gardens because of it’s breathtaking setting, historic live oak, and proximity to the water. Jonathan and I are both from the south and love the coastal charm of Wilmington with the magnificent oaks draped with Spanish moss, breeze, saltwater, antebellum architecture, and rich history. We both wanted a wedding with rustic elegance and most importantly an awesome band (ENVISION).  My mother did an excellent job of creating our vision for the wedding with the Save the Date announcement saying : “Please join us under the trees, and by the sea!”  The Live Oak has so much symbolism so we had a friend
create a Oak Crest that was used for the wedding invitation, programs, and koozies. One of Jonathan’s family friends painted the Oak for us to capture our guests in a different way.Our cakes were made by my cousin from Seattle and the cake knife we used was also used by Jonathan’s parents on their wedding day 42 years ago.  Throughout the wedding process we were blessed to have a tremendous amount of support from family and friends!!!
