I was given a beautiful plaque, with a powerful message, from a friend when I was 17 and making the biggest move of my life. I was leaving Ohio where I grew up, and was heading down to Daytona Beach, FL, to start my new life. Unfortunately, I didn’t really “get” the message from this plaque, until years later. It’s always so interesting how things are presented to us in the same light our entire lives, and then one day we see it differently. The only thing that has changed is our perception. I try and keep this in mind when I see that someone has a completely different way of looking at things as I do. So often I’ll think “What the hell are they thinking?!” Then I’ll remember a time I believed in things so differently than I do today.
…and to think I am only 28. Imagine the shift in perception when I am 38, 48, or 58?! Wow.
And in case you were wondering, here is the message I was given 11 years ago 🙂 It still hangs in my home after all these years, however the message is continually shifting…
When I dare to be powerful – to use my strength in the service of my vision, Then it becomes less and less important, whether I am afraid.
